Students Advocating for Students
The Housing Commission works to actively address UC Berkeley’s student housing crisis, a historical issue that continues to affect both the student body and the surrounding East Bay community. The Housing Commission is an official chartered body of Commissioners established by the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) — UC Berkeley’s undergraduate student government which runs autonomously from University administration.
We exist to educate, coordinate, and advocate on issues relating to housing policy on the local level as well as housing owned and operated by UC Berkeley. To learn more about the primary powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Commission, please view our charter document linked below.
